Listening+reading isn't faster than reading by itself, but it's more immersive and makes it easier to read while e.g. eating breakfast. 10/

After you finish a book, close the loop by tweeting or blogging about it. This can be as simple as sharing your favorite passages. 11/

Or learn from Tiago (@fortelabs), who has a whole process for digesting his notes and then tweetstorming them. https://praxis.fortelabs.co/mood-as-extrapolation-engine-using-emotions-to-generate-momentum-65a2e5940aae#b337 … 12/

One last tip: Set your current book as your phone's lock screen, as a reminder of how you'd rather spend your time. (Here's mine...) 13/pic.twitter.com/ubmcyli3cN

https://twitter.com/unfinishthought/status/857913958740578304 … I've stopped all straining to try and grasp concepts. 1) it's overrated 2) easier to pick up the book next time.

Studying dense material isn't hard, you make it hard by furrowing your brow to grasp it. The ego thinks itself the only element in learning.

This is critical. T. Galleway explains it beautifully in The Inner Game of Work

I'm intrigued by this, but I confess I don't understand. What's wrong with effort? How else are we to learn difficult concepts?

Galleway coached his tennis students by asking them to observe the stitches on the tennis ball as it flew through the air

This distracted their Self 1 (analytical, critical) so that their Self 2 (intuitive, embodied) could take control and learn naturally

You reminded me of Galloway's "Inner Game of Music" sitting on my bookshelf, now it's begging to be re-read. Great interjection Tiago.

Intuitive learning vs Analytical learning is a post you should do. Critical difference in performance & creativity between them.

Actually it's written by a musician, Barry Green who took the concepts in the Inner game of Tennis and applied them to musicians' practice.
