Ego without vision of the possibilities of self is chaos.

Ego is a tool until you become aware of it blinding you.
-
So if you find yourself and you attach a sense of pride/shame to that... I still consider that ego. Great points on the beginning ego....
-
Correct. Any form of self-consciousness is a form of ego. You cannot feel shame or pride without being self-conscious. But...
-
What CAN be done is to observe it so to make space for what IS real. So you can laugh about it and snap out of it saying "How silly of me!"
-
True, but the ego is just as "real" and worthy of observation as anything else at that point. I don't see it as silly... I see it as human
-
The ego has an advantage. It is static, and can be known & observed. Your being is dynamic, and the only way to "know" it is to live it.
-
I don't separate the two, I'm not sure I can know my ego.
-
Or... maybe what I am trying to say is there is great advantage to attaching your ego to "being" and disavowing it from all else

The reason for the ego is ignorance-you do it because you have no other means. You don't have yourself yet, you haven't explored in & out..

An ego resides in ignorance, in unconsciousness. Once you've shone a light as to the "why" and "what" behind it it's automatically discarded

True parts of yourself get tangled in ego & it takes time to separate the wheat from the chaff. Time & life experience, so the self can grow
