For those who may misunderstand, the intention of this observation is not negative, but encouraging–one of the worst obstacles to happiness is trying to minimize suffering, when you will never have one without the other. Embrace life as it is, don't try to get out of its current.

Dark! Dark! Dark! "Life is suffering." Is there hope?
-
If you see darkness in it that's your own projection. I am simply stating an unalienable fact. You will suffer for as long as you live, and it will come and go, just as happiness, joy, hope, and everything else does. Recall that darkness and light go together.
-
Sooo... if suffering comes and goes, just like happiness, joy, etc. comes and goes, why not say life is happiness?
-
Say what you want, it doesn't change the fact. You can put on whatever kind of glasses you want, and you're free to do so. It's your life.
-
Glasses? So your own words require corrected vision? I can see the cause of some of your suffering.
-
I'm happy you do.
-
Now stay that way.

As long as there is a ray of hope of the promised land, which casts its light on the obscurities of human existence, even in flashes, man will gladly surrender to delusion, avoiding awareness. Even when suffering. It's unpolished human nature.
-
You're getting my point.

Disagree. Pain is real, suffering is a decision.
-
Whatever you name it, it will be with you for as long as you live, and you will never escape it. No one has.

Yes. Desire itself is the movement of life. It has been noted, getting/not getting are the two great tragedies of life. Suffering is clinging to that which dissolves. I imagine a man constructing a house as it is burning. Non-attachment to the results of action is liberation.

We strive to create happy moments, even in a life of suffering. That's how you get through it. The soul wants to be relieved and uplifted from a damaged world.
