Despite all my progress, I still become paralyzed when facing life-altering decisions. The lag from when I know the right answer to when I act on it is shrinking, but still too long. That time spent ruminating is a complete waste.

Perhaps. That’s a more positive view. Then the challenge becomes, should I view this period of rumination as necessary and worthwhile?

I think it best to embrace it as an essential part of the decision making process and not as 100% 'weaksauce'. If someone else were to take responsibility it would relieve you of the burden of choice, but it would also deprive you of it - they feed each other.
