I grew up without the internet and spent most of my free time outside. In nature, snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing…independent sports are as real as it gets because the only competition is yourself.

When Myspace and Facebook came on to the scene, I was clear-headed enough to say “fuck that fake bullshit” and never was active on any social media. I only started a Twitter account when I launched my blog and people said it was a good idea. I like Twitter a lot now.

I studied art & philosophy at Columbia in the early 2000s…a few of my professors then would make Jordan Peterson look tame. That was a truly difficult education and I’m glad I pushed myself through it. It taught me how to think.

I grew up in a cult that was seriously adamant about finding “the truth”. They were redpilled on politics, religion, and capitalism. Even though that cult fucked me up with guilt issues when I was young, I’m grateful for the critical thinking and fire they instilled.

Being authentic and real is the only thing I know, ask anyone who has ever met me. Problem is that I’m not comfortable around most people and have to really think before I speak so as to not offend them (but when I feel I can let loose, boy do I let loose).

I find that anger is mostly a refusal to relate to an objective state of affairs, which although perceived, is rejected by what one feels to constitute one's identity (e.g. subjective values). Finding a way to relate the two again usually resolves it.

Point being that realness is down to your capacity to relate with reality as an individual (which you have by the bucketload), with anger being a block to that.
