First of all, part of the sentiment is correct, you’re not gonna get rich skipping the morning latte. But I guarantee any asshole tweeting this is not independently wealthy. I don’t know a single wealthy person that talks that way.

Every wealthy person I know started by making smart, efficient money decisions. They saved $10,000 to buy their first property, they saved for years so they could quit their day job to focus on a new venture, or they diligently saved for years until it was millions.

The point is, every single one of them achieved their success, at least initially, by SAVING as much of their current income as possible. They created a gap between income and expenses and exploited it for maximum wealth.

Sure, once they had a viable business running they could afford to loosen the reigns a bit, but most of them didn’t anyway because they enjoy living lightly and continuing to save. Their sense of well-being was derived from production, not consumption.

Almost all successful businesses have a comeback story where things looked bleak at some point and the owner was eating ramen noodles to keep things afloat. They didn’t say “abundance!” and race out for filet.
