Apparently so. IIRC, the host quoted it when discussing the topic of Gray's opposition to the style of thinking which equates wisdom & compassion with social-activism, which Gray said would condemn many contemplative tradions which don't necessarily tend to engagement.

As you well know, many people are emotionally-invested on this issue. I don't know what Gray's argument on this is. He was largely giving a summary of Schopenhauer's views - w/rt understanding the illusory nature of self - and not his own.
