I generally agree, but some people will too readily ignore or negate a serious window of opportunity because they’ve been taught to see all meditative experiences as just more sensory arising. Nuanced approach is optimal; but yours is probably safer on avg.
Can you see how that strategy may not necessarily be in service of your stated goal? If one can experience massive bliss or severe pain with stability of attention, equanimity etc, then that may serve your stated goal just as much as ignoring strong sensory arisings to focus on x

That’s what happens anyway. If I’m having bliss or pain in mediation, I keep attention focused on my object and yet still experience the bliss or pain. I see us on the same page here.
