I’ve been forcing myself to go to events outside of my comfort zone (ie where I could easily talk to a stranger about a shared common interest) and it’s hard and I hate it?

In addition I’m choosing alcohol free spaces so I can’t default to a cocktail to ease the transition?

This has been key for me being a more pro-social aspie. Pick an event just outside my comfort window, notice the shit out of internal emotional reactions, keep pushing the envelope. Deeply uncomfortable, but now I can go just about anywhere I might need to without any bother.
