I may have phrased my question incorrectly - apologies for any confusion. It was wrt to traditions which practice in terms/styles quite different to those you were trained in - and your training sounds wonderful.

I was already into Astang or Raja Yoga and self-study of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras from a long previous interest in the nature of the mind but nothing I had encountered seemed to relate to the display nature I had chanced to realize. This was in 1972.

Being interested in Buddhism I found several of Evans Wentz's books including "The Tibetan Book of the Great Liberation" which I managed to realize was actually addressing this display nature I had recognized. That put me onto Tibetan Buddhism in search of reference to display.

Evolution long ago selected in favor of directly reifying the display appearances, however, so all creatures, human included, take the shortcut of assuming what they are seeing is the actual world they are moving in and thus "fail" to recognize the display nature of appearances.

I’ve often pondered this.. it seems as if maybe a spiritualists quest for “awakening” “enlightenment” “display” is like a resistance of sorts.. or perhaps just another branch of evolution. Or both. Because growth is also resistance that seems to be how things are able to evolve.

Actually I discovered (for myself of course as it has long been known) the display nature quite by accident on noting that a distant freeway sign I was struggling to read was limited in discernment by the resolution of my vision and was in fact a projection of my retinal image.

Of course the display nature stands on its own independent of any human spiritual contexts, or non-human for that matter, as it is quite clear that all animated life forms utilize the display nature of consciousness to model their present circumstance and infer how next to move.
