go to the sensation level and rest awareness in non-interpetive experiencing. Pure sensation has no bias and arises in open mind.

Worth mentioning that a more 'formless' approach - "resting in non-interpretive experiencing" (beautifully phrased) - requires a significant degree of capacity, know-how, willingness, and/or natural inclination.

I think this is why it is so important that meditators lay a solid foundation with basic attentional skills before they run off chasing guru stuff and pretending they can practice some of the 'higher' yanas. Etc. No-one I know teaches basic attentional skill better than Shinzen.
