There is interpenetration between calcified identity features (fixation & subtle trauma), and the tremendous power of the world of work, which one is almost always super-located in. The energy of the world of work can create tremendous friction, even in highly meta-rational ppl.

The foamy world is empty, and yet there is tremendous energy locked up in the tensions which hold the world together - these tensions are not just collective, but shape the individual process-relationally. This is why people are eternalistically attached to career, understandably

Some people think that being able to operate rationally, as a systemic agent, in the world as most know it, is the highest level of functionality to aspire to. This may be true, but for many they see through the shiny surface of that sphere and either adapt to meta/foam, or burn.

This is why mystics have traditionally been such fringe characters, by any number of reasons, they see beyond the most common systems of god and gold, and either learn to swim in the terror of the air, or else they’re driven to insanity.
