Just clicked: 70s Trungpa talked about stages of sitting mediation experience as: Shamatha Vipahsyana Mahavipashyana (his coinage?) Mahamudra. Perhaps this was some sort of a reworking of the four yogas of mahamudra? As Reggie Ray said he never 'formally' taught mahamudra.

Although I trust Reggie Ray is right about that, there are plenty of 'TPToTOoD' materials where Trungpa introduces the topic to his students. Several of his students have said to me directly that he was nearly always talking about Mahamudra, if you can hear it (self-secret).

You might frame it as CTR using mahamudra language like TGS. teaching the traditional methods of mahamudra is diff category.

My impression is that his teachings on all the vehicles are saturated with mahamudra and mahasandhi intimations.

If reggie says didnt get transmission it doesnt mean upadeśa to other students wasnt a CTR custom teaching that included mahamudra
