He talked about it, he talked about Milarepa in relation to it, he talked about the tradition, certain doha, and sketched ground/path/fruition via a commentary of Lodro Thayes Mahamudra song. But did he ever formally teach the practices? Reggie says not.
Of course, I can see why lots of people would say he did, and they he did constantly. I can pull out lots of transcripted material which sounds a lot like mahamudra (both sutra, essence and tantra), but I’ve never heard anything of his that presents the practices, explicitly.
I guess I see the argument, it just seems like a weird angle. In "Sadhana of Mahamudra Sourcebook" he talks about combining mahamudra n dzog
Yeah I get why it seems like a weird angle.... If I recall correctly Reggie was recording the ‘lightning strikes’ course about CTR, somebody asked about mahamudra and he said something like ‘well Trungpa never actually taught is mahamudra, he never got to it before he died.’
