That heuristic might end up doing you a mischief (combining the 'energy' metaphor with physical and psychological stuff has some hidden pitfalls. One reason why some energy practices aren't done with the body as we usually conceive of it...the 'normal' body can only take so much)

I'm not sure how helpful it would be to say much more, because some meanings/analogies are system-bound, and I don't want to present these ways of working as being universal, or better than some other methods. I don't mind risking sounding silly though...

we have very fixed ideas about what our body is and can do/expereince, and as insight develops, as we become more open to experience, open out more fully, things can seem overwhelmingly poignant, and we cannot handle that intensity of richness when inhabiting our idea of the body

Even something as simple as colours. The blueness of the sky might become much more dynamic. You aren't just seeing the idea of blue, you are open to subtleties of perception, and all of that can take a while to get used to, to let go of our previous concepts of what was true.

Is that the McGilchrist thing? I don't know his work but I know @Malcolm_Ocean is a fan. I will likely read it, eventually.

some lady tried to teach people how to draw but then she realised they're not bad at drawing they're bad at SEEING because they overlay symbols atop their perception so she made a program to teach people how to see again, so that they can draw
