Does anyone have a particular favourite goddess mythology or story? Or something in that general area.

Was talking with a mentor yesterday about a prayer which references dakinis, & how when mythology gets condensed, you can miss out on how rich variations can point to different meanings. Wondered how else people might be relating to sacred feminine in their lives, if at all.

Ok, so, not really but I've been thinking of gender a lot lately so here's my takes: Used to hate maiden/mother/crone archetype until I started tracking and noticing my menstrual cycle, then it made more sense. When thinking of female monstrosity, remembered this:pic.twitter.com/xpcfLLX3IU

When thinking about how women need to help guys to reframe masculinity I feel like this:pic.twitter.com/yejCmUixsJ

And thinking about older women and their lack of representation in culture, I adore this scene, where Vice Admiral Holdo and General Organa talk affectionately about the young headstrong Poe, saying he's a troublemaker and they like him. Their faces!pic.twitter.com/lrdMTe8Oka

Older women say that they seem to turn invisible and no one looks at them anymore. It’s good to look :)

It’s a shame there isn’t more of a pop cultural representation, the few older women in my life are all very important to me, I’ve learnt a lot from one in particular, in ways I don’t think I could of if she were young or male - I’m quite thick really so every little helps haha

I can’t believe I’ve never even heard that mentioned before. Thanks for sharing :)
