it revolves around authenticity, and is thus a huge gatekeeping risk if people aren't chill. In the hacky/kludgy sense, gluing something that should be sewn comes to mind.
In cooking this has inverted in places, so it is cheating to put in the work. Stop making your own puff pastry and buy it in like the rest of us, loser!
