anger is...delicious [?] and i guess this on isn't very rare nowadays, but tfw you let go of the struggle to cling to some aspect of your identity--it's like a whole new space of possibilities opens up

eg. someone called me an asshole yesterday for something i said. there was a time where i would get defensive and try all sorts of rationalizations. and yesterday, i just took it and thought, "huh, maybe i _really_ was being an asshole_" and apologized, and things turned out fine

Oh yeah anger is a good one. It’s a shame when people like to think of themselves as being peaceful, because then they never get under the anger...they just let it drive them about from time to time. I like your phrasing ‘space of possibilities’ It does feel that way doesn’t it.

It’s funny isn’t it, how we get so used to our opinions about ourselves, that we forget they’re a story. PS: I sometimes think that about the relationship between individuals and groups, and how that shapes the emotions we allow/forbid, what is/isn’t salient....kind of spooky.
