Is there a word for when you say something that you’re aware is probably wrong in >5 ways, but still mean it sincerely in a certain context? (Not irony, but a close cousin there of)

I like the spirit of that phrase, especially having seen you use it about that old chap you know who struggles to communicate his ideas in a way which is legible.
