Is there a word for when you say something that you’re aware is probably wrong in >5 ways, but still mean it sincerely in a certain context? (Not irony, but a close cousin there of)

Erm, I think it’s more like an awareness of plurality, and your awareness of different perspectives are often uneven, which maybe is why you express it in a certain way, even though you know it’s wrong.

Ha, yup. Some very smart people seem to think it possible to understand someone’s intentions from how they write, but I don’t know how they’re running the Monte Carlo on that.

I like the spirit of that phrase, especially having seen you use it about that old chap you know who struggles to communicate his ideas in a way which is legible.
