I doubt we can have ‘Vajrayana culture’ in isolation, but we can do a better job of facilitating cultural translation, for a better fit in context. Religious history shows that this usually happens over long periods, but I suspect we can help by not being children re: Tibet
Hmm, when I read ‘cultural translation’ I (mistakenly?) read simply swapping one set of cultural norms and reference points for another. Vajrayana Culture here is intended to mean one that addresses issues from a Vajrayana standpoint, rather than Tibetan/US/European/a.n.other one
