I can't find any direct links between CBD oil and cortisol reduction. So I've been exploring other ways it might be impacting my sleep issue. I suspect I have an imbalance in how my body maintains some neruochemicals.https://twitter.com/ultimape/status/667904410887036928 …

Do you have any recommendations re: CBD dosing? I've been avoiding that hype train because quality control is terrible in the UK, but you are making me want to try it.

Seems to vary based on the condition. I can't speak for dosing because I'm not really a doctor. Oddly its easier to find research on dogs and arthritis and anxiety reduction than anything else more complex. There's good literature on epilepsy out there.

I don't think my dosing recomendation would be a good way to go. Too much triggers anxiety in me. I think it overwhelms serotonin production and triggers intestinal problems for the same reason there's a suspicion it may help with IBS and menstrual pain.

But I've got a bunch of weird rare gene mutations that impact smooth muscle and serotonin regulation and likely futher oddness in how my gut maintains bacteria.

My suspicion is that these systems matter a lot more than people realize. I suspect ideal dosing may vary by the day even under individualized medicine approaches.

I'm cautious because I think cannibis pyschosis may be a real side effect if you happen to have the wrong bunch of patterns. But those seem more to do with THC than the CBD stuff. I am also only vaguely familiar with how terpenes impact all of this.

FWIW I remember seeing a review paper connecting CBD with antipsychotic effects...here:https://doi.org/10.2174/138161212802884681 …

Right. I think at a good dosage it can help. There's just weird things it does to the serotonin system that might cause the reverse effect for some people ala 5-HT1A https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2697769/ … which is one of the suspected actors in psychotic states.https://academic.oup.com/ijnp/article/11/5/701/968740 …

I also have a kind circadian rhythm oddness that means that my levels of serotonin vary irregularly thru day, and I've been exploring a weird trend of seasonal usage of cannabis thru history thanks to: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3779905/ … https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12537047 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168010203002670 …
