Several friends have experienced it. I've had some periods of that and wouldn't be surprised if I encountered more layers in the future. 6/

I wouldn't personally call the resulting state "superpowered judgement"... perhaps, smoothly powerful context-sensitive discernment? 7/

This post-judgement is different from universalizing or dualistic judgements (is this always right or wrong, good or bad?). Focuses instead on context - to what extent is this well-suited / useful / in alignment / in integrity, in relation to a particular purpose? 8/

Post-judgement is also different from vague, abstracted, or dissociated non-judgement. I think this is what Matt was pointing at in his initial tweet? There's a need to step into your subjective experience as part of the whole sense-making system. 9/

Not taking individual subjectivity as the whole thing or the only thing that generates meaning -- that'd be existentialism, which would lead to confusion again. And yet embodied experience is a key part. 10/

I like this a lot. Although 'post-judgement' as a term evokes some fairly unhelpful associations (personally), it makes good sense to me in contrast to the quasi-neutral stances Sarah highlights. Nice.

Yeah I did notice the connection, I just got sidetracked by interestingness.

I'm interested in the associations "post-judgement" brings up for you, Mi'sen, if you're willing to share? And/or any thoughts on alternative phrases. (We've been exploring a variety of other "post-" words, including post-blame, to point towards this area.)

Sure. ‘Post-judgement’ sounds like fragile transcendence. A performative chill surface, raging omnishamble undercurrent. You mentioned context sensitive discernment, which sounds closer to your overall way of talking here.

re: alternatives I’ll have a think. Tricky: post-judgment makes visceral sense in some contexts, some ways of being. Using your ecologist <-> mountain-lion metaphor; perhaps those two modes would resonate well with different terms. eg: context discernment <-> fluid action Hmmm
