Hey Vinay. Apparently I wasn’t supposed to tag you in on this. Seeming as you’re here now — sorry you lot — I wonder if you care to elaborate on what the nath tradition consider to count as enlightenment? Relationship between enlightenment and behaviour/personality?

It's a mahasiddha tradition. As with Vajrayana, the closest Buddhist tradition in both geography and style, enlightened beings manifest in a huge range of personalities. Sharp contrast with, say, Zen where they seem to converge as they get closer to enlightenment. No idea why.

Remember, too, I have next to no visible teaching activity. Very nearly everybody I refer to my teachers. Two or three people I teach in private. There is no cult. At which point, who cares? Go police somebody who's fucking their students wives or children.

This is why I generally regard the occasional bouts of shrill sniping at me as idiotic. Nobody who's actually looked at how I spent my life, and what I did with my talents, has any reason to complain. Hard problems, solved well, with decades of effort in the public domain.
