      I do prefer the idea of returning directly to the food chain to being stuck in a box to rot on my own. Never did get the (or early Europeans’) fetishization of human relics though I don’t find it abhorrent.

          True - I’ve seen ceramics, blown glass and even artificial diamonds made with loved ones’ cremains. Not quite the same as praying to the intact finger bone of St Giles or whoever, but perhaps a similar impulse.
