I’m kind of being facetious, and non-schizophrenic’s can have visionary experience AFAIK - but it is an area that I find interesting. Krippner’s work comes to mind, about how the cultural assumptions about atypical mental experiences can vary significantly, re: pathology of gift
*or gift. Maybe I should read up more about psychology of religious experience. I’m more versed on accounts of how some visionary experiences have reshaped religious traditions, from a religious studies angle.
