Whilst on the topic of Gray; his critical review of Sloterdijk is well worth a read for anyone with an interest in PS’s Spheres. Although I agree with most of JG’s criticism, he seems to underestimate the originality (at least in Western philosophy), of his ‘cultural topology’.

Although JG is right that Sphären reads like a ‘convoluted prose poem’ rather than philosophical discourse - there are ideas in there which is taken seriously enough to chew through, could allow a person to arrive at a fairly different view of human cultures...
