Collecting was the aspect I was emphasizing, iirc I think that’s a key part of spiritual materialism as identity/ego building, but ymmv.

I find Trungpa’s definition of spiritual materialism os most use when in the context of the other two ‘lords of’ - body/speech/mind - because we all have some grasp of what standard materialism looks like, so then psychological and spiritual materialism begin to make more sense.

IIRC, seeking comfort in the intellect, ideas, ideologies, political models, etc. I can’t remember if he includes ‘states of mind’ in with psychological or spiritual materialism.
