I particularly like the question at the end about how she came to teach herself how to research. Summary: Michelle was told she was too stupid to understand the literature, so she read loads and surprise surprise, she came to understand the research in a deep way.

Thanks for sharing this. It was a fascinating interview. The bit that really struck me is the way the severity of autism is judged by the outcome of the autistic person and not by any measure of their own inner experience.

I feel a similar thing happens to people with ADHD, where the severity of your diagnosis is judged by how well you do at ordinary life tasks, without asking very much about how have you come to do so, and what's going on inside.
