Orpheus' wife, Eurydice, dies from a snake bite. Orpheus goes to Hades to ask for her life back, which is granted as long as he doesn't look back at her until they are out of the underworld. He can't help himself - because she's smoking hot - so Eurydice has to stay dead.

Jóhannsson's song joins the Metamorphoses at the point where Orpheus is killed by women from the cult of Dionysus. One way or another, they tear Orpheus' body apart because he won't fulfil their desire and have sex with them; he was too busy fucking boys and singing to Apollo.

Orpheus' ghost sinks down to the underworld, which he recognises; After searching for some time, he finds Eurydice, who he holds in his arms. They walk together, and in front of one another, safe to gaze at each other at last. Cuties.

Meanwhile - as Orpheus and Eurydice's disembodied souls gaze at each other like giddy kids - the Maenads get punished; roots of oak trees form bondage around them (think Japanese tentacle monster) and turn the women to wood. Derp.

There. Now you know what happens when you kill someone because they don't want to have sex with you. You get raped by the forces of nature and remain unfuckable, forever.
