As usual, when I post a podcast with a female guest, I lose Patreon supporters. This is now a solid trend that is completely predictable. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by misogyny, but it always blows my mind. It just makes me more dedicated to showcasing women teachers!

Don't you know that women can't get enlightened? ;)

Most enlightenment traditions have only documented the masculine awakening experience, and have assumed it is the norm - often without realizing their bias. When someone talks about an awakening experience that diesn't fit that norm, people can react like it's BS.

You might enjoy some of the hagiographies of yoginis in the mahamudra/dzogchen lineages, where women are considered superior practitioners (kinda). http://theyoginiproject.org/ might also provide some names to look at Sera Khandro comes to mind, there’s a great book by Sarah Jacoby.
