Sometimes I write a chapter, think it's garbage then read it later and realize it's actually good. Just had that happen with a chapter on how to create rituals. I thought it was crap, avoided it for months, reading it now, yeah, it's actually good. d'oh.

this is one thing a good first-reader or involved editor can do for a writer. It is so hard to judge one's own writing immediately after writing it. (Or, at least, I find it so, and I know many others do as well.)

And thinking it was crap was a major reason for writing paralysis on this book, because I felt I had to write "how to create rituals" and it seemed like I couldn't figure out /how/.
