@misen__ what do you mean by trauma in the present context?
I’ve talked to a couple of teachers about both trauma and ‘psycho-spiritual’ purification - in terms of instruction and personal coaching, but never really looked into use of terms and so on.
Not something I’m working with at the moment, personally - Caroline got me thinking

I thought my spark of interest was a good opportunity to fill in that gap in my knowledge, make some conceptual connections - so I can respond & refer more responsibly in the future, as a sort of harm reduction I suppose. Does that make sense, Chagmé?

the tradition seems silent RE effective means to work through trauma. a possible exception might be the mind teachings, which are accessible to relatively few. even in their case, guidance from teachers is lacking.

As you well know, in the Vajrayana the practice of Vajrasattva and other deities, shamatha, etc., are supposed to effect purification. I cannot say that I've seen it make much of a difference in the lives of practitioners I know.
