@misen__ what do you mean by trauma in the present context?

Personally I’ve worked through stuff which was really unpleasant - such that I was coached through in a context of resolving trauma. But, I don’t know how that process differs from standard purification stuff expected in serious meditation practice, vs someone with serious PTSD.
It seems important to draw these distinctions out, especially when the term is being thrown around a lot at the moment. Where those distinctions lie and who to trust on the matter, is not at all clear to me.

have you discussed with any of your teachers? e.g., is term kleśa limited to anger, et al., or can it also be applied to afflictions of neurological origin?

I’ve talked to a couple of teachers about both trauma and ‘psycho-spiritual’ purification - in terms of instruction and personal coaching, but never really looked into use of terms and so on. Not something I’m working with at the moment, personally - Caroline got me thinking
