@misen__ what do you mean by trauma in the present context?
I’m not a psychologist or a meditation teacher - I’m just poking around for information here, seeing what more experienced practitioners have to say. Listening to some senior meditators, it seems like there are some important distinction to be made on an individual basis.

Personally I’ve worked through stuff which was really unpleasant - such that I was coached through in a context of resolving trauma. But, I don’t know how that process differs from standard purification stuff expected in serious meditation practice, vs someone with serious PTSD.

It seems important to draw these distinctions out, especially when the term is being thrown around a lot at the moment. Where those distinctions lie and who to trust on the matter, is not at all clear to me.
