This is an interesting formulation. I did an internship with the CEO of a successful executive recruitment firm - they hire people like FTSE100 CEOs, head of security for nuclear facilities, etc - he spent the entire time drilling into me the centrality of sales as a skill-set.

I mention this because having read what you said - it occurred to me that sales for him is integral to his entire way of being in the world, in a fairly deliberate way, as a form of practice. That hadn’t really occurred to me. It makes sense of a lot of his behaviour....cool.
