@ethannichtern perhaps one who tried covering up the crimes thereby creating potential for more victims? Or is he lower on the ladder?
Well I definitely don't know the fact of his role - or not - in the facilitation of Sakyong's abuse, but I know that he is a 'senior teacher' according to the Shambhala website. I personally don't think that sounds like he is low on the ladder, but I don't know what his role is.

Really sucks for that community. Not only the crimes & betrayal of the leader but the complicity of supposed trusted ppl. Power structures in which those surrounding the leader neglect the vulnerable need to go

Yeah, sucks. I suspect that the problem is they're embedded into the cohesive tensions of that group now. Although attempting to shift the power structures is worth trying for this those unwilling to leave, any members willing to leave should get the fuck out as soon as possible.
