The ratio of sincere/performative interactions we have with others might be much lower than we think. It's not necessarily binary though. There can also be performative interactions that are sincere at a different scale or when using a different cognitive module, and vice versa.

Oh cool, in that case I have a book recommendation for you - it relates heavily to what you were tweeting about performative/sincerity, although they use terms slightly differently. It’s really good.
