We don't benefit from private schools yet we subsidise them as charities, same as VAT exempt helicopter fuel etc @MirrorPolitics #Marr

Only if they earn over £22k will they ever pay it back. It's a justifyable tax on higher earners who benefit from education

Presumably, builders and electricians should therefore start paying back for their City & Guilds, HNC, HND at a lower earnings threshold?

I suspect builders and electricians have a greater earning potential than nurses. But then I guess his uni friends dont work in the NHS
