This is not about not wanting to listen to different views. CNN gave prime time platform to a man the same week he found in a civil court to have sexually assaulted and defamed E. Jean Carroll. He used this platform to defame and mock her. That is #rapeculture.

Cooper: You have every right to be outraged today and angry and never watch this network again. But do you think staying in your silo and only listening to people you agree with is going to make that person go away?

While the right to abortion is guaranteed in Canada, not everyone has access. Our Access Line provides toll-free pregnancy options and sexual health information & referral services. The Federal government's Sexual & Reproductive Fund helps expand this vital work.

Everyone should have access to safe and consistent reproductive health services, including abortion. Today, on behalf of @jyduclos I announced more than $4.2 million in funding from the Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) Fund to @cartgrac and @actioncanadashr for their projects.

"...a retreat into complexity is more often a reflection of our social standing than evidence of critical intelligence. Hungry people want bread. The rich convene a panel of experts. Complexity is the refuge of the powerful." #vanpoli #bcpoli

Matthew Desmond’s new book POVERTY, BY AMERICA is excellent. He patiently unpacks the idea that poverty persists in our country *because* the rest of us benefit from it. Here’s one page I keep returning to:

I just witnessed a racist incident - name calling, covid blaming, serious aggression. When I spoke out (w/ permission), the person told me she was Jewish and I had no right to suggest she was being racist. Wow. We have a long way to go. #antiracism #vanpoli

This is a really important policy proposal that would make public schools more accessible & accommodating to students who observe non-Christian holidays. Many have pointed out challenges re collective agreements & biz - surely not simple but also not impossible. #ableg #bced

Alberta NDP pledging to ensure K-12/post-secondary exams are scheduled away from cultural and religious holidays. They'd also look as allowing workers to swap stat holidays for different days that align with their culture/religion. #yeg #yyc #ableg

Care workers provide critical care to Americans, but they often struggle to make ends meet. President Biden’s Executive Order will help improve the quality of long-term care jobs in this country so that Americas can get the high-quality care they deserve.

This is always a meaningful day at the , increasingly so as there are fewer survivors remaining. It can’t be taken for granted that governments recognize this day, and validate and honour the remarkable survivors. #NeverAgain #YomHaShoah

A meaningful #YOMHASHOAH2023 this afternoon at @BCLegislature to bear witness and acknowledge the 6 million Jews and millions of others who were murdered by Nazis. We gather with survivors and acknowledge the resistance and the resilience of millions of others.

I share the worries about the risks of encampments to those living in these communities. Encampments are not safe or suitable alternatives to housing. However, Single Room Occupancy units unfit for habitation or displacement to other encampments does not solve the problem (1/6)

This is important and significant support for and for victims of intimate partner violence. It says a lot about the #genderjustice values brings to the role of Attorney General. #bcpoli

In 2021, police reported 114,132 victims of intimate partner violence. We know the number of those affected is much higher than this. This funding will help protect more women from becoming victims in the future. news.gov.bc.ca/28488

Pesach is hard. Not the cleaning, which I manage, or the cooking, which I enjoy. Not because of the food restrictions. Pesach is hard because it's so much about children, and the seder experience, and for so many of us, that isn't going to look exactly how we would have hoped.
