The curve isn't bending at all in the US. That does NOT mean social distancing isn't working. It means it's taking time to see its effects. This is not the time to relax social distancing measures. It's the time to strengthen them. We need a nationwide #SafeAtHome order.https://twitter.com/jburnmurdoch/status/1243998677863145473 …

The lag between test availability and infection rate is around two weeks. And because we have no national leadership, the curve will bend differently in different states.

Absolutely. Lots of variation across states and perhaps more importantly, metropolitan areas. But we need national leadership rather than this patchwork system of policies that allows proliferation in one state and containment in another.

Not state quarantines for some states. Not county by county decisions like in Florida that cause what’s pictured. A total and complete shutdown. People are going to die.pic.twitter.com/xLfSvCnB4N

We need to stop thinking about the US as one entity. Some cities and states are aggressively social distancing and flattening the curve, whereas others are being lax and will pay the price. #StayAtHomeAndStaySafe

Or consider the counterfactual: what would the curve look like without any social distancing? 😬😬😬

Seriously. One of the reasons why Los Angeles County's confirmed cases were only at 1465 as of yesterday has been attributed to early social distancing efforts (ahead of NYC).

The curve isn’t bending here because of a disastrous combination of American Arrogance, rugged individualism, and evangelical death cultists.

The federal government has no legal authority to impose a stay-at-home order. Only the states.

They are mostly doing it no? I saw NH is starting 40 days. The real concern is the opposite at this point with WH pushing in the other direction (or for personal ego reasons)
