Everyday I dream of a world where reviewers judge games based on how fun they are, not the degree to which those games deliver political messages or philosophical treatise.

I think there's room for both tbh. It can be grating to see it brought up in everything but if a game is specifically saying something about a topic or giving out a message (like Bioshock's objectivism theme), then it's perfectly fine to mention some thoughts on it in reviews

In fact I'd go as far as to argue that reviewing games based only on how much fun they are discredits the medium's ever improving ability to tell interesting & challenging stories in new & interesting, unique ways.
