How do we know you aren't actually cloning yourself ala The Prestige?

This reminds me of the time I first listened to a song of yours, I thought "Miracle of Sound" was a multi-man band.

It's the slight inconsistencies and differences that make it work too. If every take was robotically perfect, then it wouldn't sound good. Same reason people used to tune the 2 sets of B and high E strings on a 12 string guitar kinda deliberately imperfect to get a good sound.

yeah! Every so often the notes in 2 vocals will align perfectly and it goes waaay weird & out of phase

A mate of mine does this on her vocals for chorus stuff - I seem to remember her splitting out the layered sources with a bit of pan/phase separation for a richer/broader sound, too. Useful tricks you can still do on a Mac in yer bedroom :-)

Yeah! I generally pan harmonies & keep main melody layers center, but there are frequent exceptions :)

Do you typically do octaves and 2nd voices, or just the same notes every time? It never works when I try this xD

I guess is cheaper than making actual clones, but not having more Gavs is a disservice to this world...
