That's not to say it's a bad position to be in - it's amazing and we wouldn't work to hard at it if it weren't so great! But it's also ok to be upset and frustrated at it sometimes, that's totally normal with ANY job :)

And before you go 'You should get a real job & see how stressful it is hurr durr', mate I used to do 14 hour shifts washing burned risotto & grease fat off cooking pots in sweaty hotel kitchens lol, don't even go there

Even if you have the most perfectly suited job to your temperament... it's still possible to just have a Bad Day. Everyone gets them, and it's not a crime to need a break now and again, no matter how fulfilling your career is for you.
-
Exactly! and when you've poured tonnes of heart & soul into a project that fails or doesn't live up, it can really feel shitty

In my experience people assume you have to be miserable doing it for it to be a job. If it's not soul-crushing then it's "not a real job." Dunno if that's jealousy or it's really that ingrained in people's mentality.

Yeah I never understood that attitude, dunno where it comes from

I think streaming video games might be one of the best jobs ever, and the people who make money from it should be grateful. However, I don't think that means they can only be grateful, there will be bad moments, days. And, they're human, not machines. Dream jobs can also suck.

I think people see the result, the song/stream/video, but not the work that goes into it, the years & hundreds of failures it's taken to get to where you guys are. Hard work always looks like luck from a distance.
