Too slow, to processed, too removed from the emotion of what she was describing.

Kinda how I felt too. The dude is clearly a good singer but the production robs him of his emotion

She was also suppose to record this song with them but had passed away the morning of the recording session

You can't convince me this isn't just Disturbed's Sound of Silence cover

Funny enough, I dislike the EXACT same things about both of them

I also like Alina Lesnik's cover, but I think nothing compares to the original.

This is.... fine? But I don't really feel any emotion behind it. Despite it.. or perhaps even more so BECAUSE it was being made in the wake of her death. They don't even have the simple but poignant lead guitar. It just seems to lack the emotion of the original.

Also if you're GOING to change the lyrics.. and I have no problem with the "drones" addition, why would you not have "it's the same old theme since 1916" the first time, and then the "2018" version after? Juxtaposition to reinforce the point?

Have you heard the cover the Chorallaries of MIT did? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWOer3c3Eto …

The overly processed vocals make it sound too pretty. Punk rock shouldn't really be pretty.
