I think I figured out how to beat addiction. So the reason I self medicate and distract myself is because deep down I am miserable. It gives me momentary reprieve. But if I can learn to handle being miserable I can do the work to fix it. Just gotta embrace the pain.

Pain, as they say, is weakness leaving the body. If I stop trying to avoid it and using food and shit to temporarily alleviate it then I can just lean in and do the work that can build a future free of that pain and misery. Right?

Yup. This is why I had this breakthrough. Tho my therapist disagrees while heartedly haha.
