Been having a blast with Far Cry 5. Lots of small quality of life changes (no towers, no mini map, less grinding for resources) all add up. Some genuinely funny side characters & missions. Story is dark, campy fun. World feels more hand crafted than previous games. Thumbs up!

For those asking for my view on FC5 not fully addressing the current political climate: Ye all know I 100% support & encourage art to make political statements if the artist wants to - but I also respect any creators' choice to not make them. It's ok to just be fun & goofy.

My problem is they encouraged the expectation that they would be addressing it with their pre launch marketing. They scored free points then didnt fully commit. Having cake and eating it too.

Did they though? or did people just read into it too much, coupled with wishful thinking? (genuine question, not a challenge)

Their constant bragging about hiring experts on cults only to then resort to mind control drugs is a bit of a bait and switch. Yeah

I haven't bought it (yet. First Far Cry I am interested in). But yeah. The problem is that the enemies remind me more of zombies than actual cult members. Seems removing the mind control and actually tone down the crazy a bit would have made the setting actually scarier.

The druggy storyline is about one section of the cult, not the whole thing.
