I loved the 90s for there not really being limitations on what was popular, one week the top song would be a rock song, country the next and then Mambo Number 5. So much variation in music.

For popular music (ie, what gets played on the radio), I’d say the 80s. For my more niche interests, the 2000s to the present has been unreservedly excellent (The Decemberists, Iron & Wine, The Mountain Goats, Death Cab for Cutie, you).
