Does anyone else feel bad when the monsters in Monster Hunter try to limp away? I want to abandon the mission when that happens it makes me feel like a real piece of shit lol. 'Come back innocent creature I need to murder you so I can take your cool spikes for my new trousers'

So a bit like the justification for deer hunting back up in Maine; I think they give out a set number of permits a year to keep the population under control.

Yeah it's all basically a conservationist effort. Though that still feels like a cop out to shoot dinos in the face lol
-
I think irl conservation efforts would be a lot more successful if they involved more shooting dinosaurs in the face

Sure... justify it however you like.

It is easy to justify. It is a fantasy game, in a fantasy world, with fantasy monsters to create gear that no real life human could ever hope to possibly wield.

I get it with [SPOILER FINAL BOSS]. That is the DEFINITION of an invasive species.

Isn't that basically how most sanctioned hunting goes? Hunt one species to preserve the eco-balance? Otherwise it would be called Monster Poaching

I don't feel guilty about it. Daddy needs a new pair of boots.pic.twitter.com/5vuB9aYyNj

In all seriousness I understand why hunters do what they do. Really enjoyed my time with MHW so far.

Their veneer of wildlife management doesn’t make much sense to me. Ecosystems are usually very good at managing themselves. Am I supposed to tell myself we’re only hunting invasive species that threaten a long established natural order?
-
It happens in the real world aswell. Invasive species end up in habitats they shouldn't be and destroy the ecosystem if there isn't intervention.
