Obviously not every song is London Calling or Killing In The Name Of, but our cultural/political landscape informs tone, genre, style, production value, even stuff like which musical scales & lyrical rhythms we gravitate towards. Most importantly, it influences who we are

For example: A love song played by a poor person struggling to make ends meet is most likely going to sound very different to one played by a middle class or wealthy music producer with access to better equipment and a completely different experience of life.
